The Bridgewater Sustainable Earth Foundation is a non for profit organization driven by its founders and trustees respect for the natural environment and commitment to the Historic Preservation of the Bridgewater Mill, located in Bridgewater, Vermont. In general, BSEF supports projects that provide environmental education opportunities, fostering responsible stewardship of resources, reducing and recycling waste with a commitment to long-term change. We believe that climate change represents Vermont's most important environmental threat today – and that conserving our resources will lead us to a more sustainable future.
First Initiatives:
We opened the Bridgewater Thrift Store in the Fall of 2006, and the Heritage Weaving Studio during the following year. Sustainability is embedded into the fabric of everything we do, from the treatment of our clothing, repairing and cleaning to the beautiful rugs that we weave with the recycled products. BSEF has now almost ten years of caring, both for the community in which we work, and for the environment. We are guided by the following values: Honesty, Integrity, Innovation, Empathy, Hard Work and the desire to make a contribution to make a better future for all of us.
